Machine & Ville - The Invisible

The Photographs are of works that I made, that no longer exist. They were documented at Northampton Services, then destroyed at Raynesway Dump in Derby on Friday 15th April. They may or may not be reworked in the future.

Having now moved to London from Derby these paintings were too large to fit into the flat. Myself and A.Raven decided in a moment of Fluxist Thought on Thursday 14th April to destroy them.

Big Draw

I have an involvement with some of this... Creating drawings in the window of a shop on St Peters Street on random times and days.. keep a look out on the Big Draw website for listings or just walk by St Peters Street in October....

image above & quoted text below lifted from Beth Heaney's blog

This lovely artwork has been produced for the Derby Big Draw brochure, it's by Emma Reading.
The more I look at it the more I see.
The festival begins on the 1st October with a launch party and opening of 'Scribble and Scrawl'. Kate Smith Jane Dearden, Tracey Meek and myself all showing work at the Crompton, Crompton Street, Derby.
We've worked so hard to get everything off the ground and there is still so much to do.
The exciting bit will be occupying an empty shop for the month with No Parking (my creative family) and turning what was La Senza - a knicker and bra store - into a drawing space. It's 48 St Peter's St Derby.
I've had lots and lots of help lately, generous people giving time and energy and skill to this project so I am really determined to give back somehow.
Derby is brimming with talent. We need to show more of it off. x

Videos

These are videos that have been recently uploaded that feature my work the first being my work in NOPARKING show filmed by Gary McCloud a Commercial Photo/Video student from Derby University.
The aspect ratio seems to be wrong becouse the images filmed are distorted but the actual video is fine i have beeen told.

The Second Video is Confluence made by Sean Clark from Cuttlefish it was a collaboration between myself / Candice Moule / Sean Clark of Cuttlefish and Steve Gibbs of Bathysphere. It was originally shown as part of the Nanoplex Cinema /Caravan.

a new acquisition

i've been in to the idea of using reel to reel tape for years ... having watched the film The Conversation years ago ... as well as being into the BBC Radiophonic Workshop

I have recently acquirred a machine similiar to the one pictured... A ReVox PR99 MKIII... a few of the buttons are different.... its exactly like the picture below the first ... but does have a metal plate with groouves in it in the middle empty section at bottom.... i also have an older machine called Golden Spinney as well which is working, but needs fixing... the tape pressure pad is needing replacing... I think it is a 1950's/60's machine... similiar to the one pictured below...

I'm going to start playing around with sound ... who knows what might happen...
