Nosferatu is a German Expressionist film by F. W. Murnau, starring Max Schreck as the vampire Count Orlok. Its original German title is Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens ("Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror"). The film, shot in 1921 and released in 1922, was in essence an unauthorised adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, but with names and other details changed because the studio could not obtain the rights to the novel (for instance, "vampire" became "Nosferatu", and Count Dracula became Count Orlok).

what I have been up to recently
Well its been a while since I've written one of these...
lets get on with it ...
for one I have recently been an extra in a movie - The Duchess - being filmed at Chatsworth with Keira Knightly, Ralph Fiennes and Charlotte Rampling...
It was fun to do, but alot of hanging around on first day... I had managed to get a lift in as well with one of the other extras - Roy... whom I met at costume fitting...
It rained a bit so filming stopped...
it was a wedding outdoor banquet scene...
Anyway second day some of us got called back and not others including Roy whom gave me a lift...
i had to think of another way of getting there by any means...
It took an early train to Matlock, 5.40am from Derby - walking - bus and more walking... to get to Chatsworth from Derby arriving around 8.30... a little late and I was worried I'd be sent home...
But not ... it was a more intense day of filming ... a constant process of retakes... rehearsals...
the director even got me to walk through near the main charactors...
It was more of the wedding scene bits through the day ... including the food bit where we as Tenants yes I forgot to say I was a Tenant Charactor...
By the day we got to film the food on table was mouldy and at the very least appetising.. but we had to convince the camera we were enjoying it mmmmm mould mmmmmmm ... but it some how made it more jovial amongst us extras...
we even got to do the sound of a party at end... most of the time through out we had to maintain silence due to dialogue being recorded by main actors near by...
it was interesting to experience how a film is constructed...
I enjoyed the experience and would love to do it again at some point...
heres what i looked like in period costume....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tango
What else have I been up to .... Gone to two weddings recently... one of which was Lorin Halsall's from The Dust Collectors, got to Tango properly to a band called BetTango featuring Walt Shaw whom plays with us in Dust Collectors...
Its a dance I would like to learn properly...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
And Finally -
To quote from the film 'Billy Liar'
Its all Happening!!!

Ilford Park
Hi, I have now got the photographs online that I took at the abandoned site of Ilford Park Polish Resettlement Camp in Devon....
I am also looking for people whom may have come through the camp or at least know of someone whom has or you may be a relative of someone who did...
I would be good to hear from you.... I am working on this project with a writer friend where it will result in a exhibition or publication.
